Since its debut in August, sales of the 2016 Outlander have risen 97 percent over the same four-month period last year. The excellent performance of the redesigned seven-passenger crossover has helped Mitsubishi continue its sales momentum, and the automaker has now reported year-over-year sales increases for 21 straight months.
One highlight of the 2016 Outlander is it's suite of standard and available safety features. In a press released, issued this morning, it was announced that the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has named the Outlander a Top Safety Pick+ with availability of a Forward Collision Mitigation system.
Don Swearingen, executive vice president, Mitsubishi Motors North America was enthusiastic about the model's future, saying: "With over 100 improvements from the previous model year, the 2016 Outlander truly serves as an ambassador for the brand’s dedication to superior safety and reliability."
Other advanced safety features include Active Stability Control with Traction Control Logic; Lane Departure Warning; and Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist.
